My piece for Light Grey Art Lab’s Station Zero show, for which we each had to re-imagine the cover of an old science fiction novel. (Actually my final submission is on another hard drive at the moment, so this is a slightly earlier version with a couple small differences – more intense colors since it’s RGB, and some textures I later dropped.)
Falcons and falconry are a recurring device in the book, and its true antagonists remain unseen and mysterious for much of the story, pulling the strings from the shadows, so I thought the image of a hooded falcon would be apt.
There’s tons of seriously amazing work in the show that has me simultaneously super-inspired and totally depressed! Go check them out at the online gallery & shop.
